Norma Lee Crawford, 78, of Independence, MO, passed away, Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at Medical Center of Independence. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 29, 2005 at the Carson-Speaks Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Lee�s Summit Historical Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Friday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Norma was born January 18, 1927 in Springfield, MO to Alfred O. and Mattie Flowers (Scheihagen) Smith. She grew up in Springfield and attended public schools there and graduated from Springfield High School in 1944. While in Independence she worked as a beautician and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Fairmont United Methodist Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution, Social Order of the Beaciant, Order of the Eastern Star and the Jackson County Genealogy Society. She was married to Foster S. Crawford on October 18, 1959, he survives of the home. Other survivors include; 2 sons, Scott S. Crawford of Raytown, MO and Shawn F. Crawford of Shawnee, KS; a brother, the Reverend Dr. Alfred O. Smith, Jr. of Leawood, KS.
