Fannie K. “Fran” Cresswell, 96, of Independence, MO, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023. A visitation will be held from 10:00-10:30am with Rosary at 10:30am, followed by a prayer service at 11am on Friday, March 17th at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W Lexington Ave.; Independence, MO 64052. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Raytown, MO.
Fannie was born on February 1st, 1927, in Kansas City, MO, to Leonard and Mary Lamano. She graduated from Northeast High School in Kansas City in 1944. A few years later, she met and married Earl E. Cresswell and together, they made Independence their home. Fannie retired after a successful and enjoyable career as a clerk for the Kansas City Board of Education. She was a life-long member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Independence where she served as Altar Society President for many years. Fannie was an avid Royals fan as long as they stayed humble. She enjoyed card games and Bingo. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
Fannie is survived by her son, Steve (Susan) Cresswell of Independence; grandchildren, Nick (Kayla) Cresswell of Lee’s Summit, Erik Cresswell of Independence and Karly Cresswell of Independence, as well as several beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl; and her siblings, Victor Lamano, Joseph Lamanno, and Santina Vento.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shangri-La Rehab and Living Center in Blue Springs.
