Bill Crick, 84, of Independence, Mo passed away February 17, 2014. A Memorial Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, March 1, 2014, at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Bill was born on August 10, 1929, in Independence, MO to William R. and Margaret F. (Koehler) Crick. Bill was an Army Veteran, serving in the Korean War, and attended Graceland University. After returning to Independence, he met and married the love of his life Carolyn “C.J.” Hawley. To this union 2 children were born, Jon and Kai. Bill’s greatest passion was working with his hands. He was a master craftsman, and this led to Crick Tool, Inc. Crick Tools were known world wide for the quality of levels that he manufactured. He started his business in the basement of his home, and grew to 25 employees. In 1997 he sold the company. You can still purchase his levels today. Compelled to build create, repair, reliable, articulate and imaginative, are all words that could be used to describe Bill. He also loved to explore the country in his RV, with his wife by his side. Bill will be sadly missed by his wife of nearly 60 years, C.J.; son, Jon Crick (Kathy); daughter, Kai Crick (James Young); grandson, Ean Hatcher (Ashley); granddaughter, Stacy Fugate (Josh); half sisters, Dana Crick and Gayle Crick.
