Carl D. Cross, 78, of Raymore, MO, passed away, Friday, July 31, 2009 at Research Belton Hospital. Graveside services with full military honors will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at the Emmanuel Cemetery in Carthage, MO. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Carl was born June 8, 1931 in Jerico Springs, MO to Leo and Ollie (Westbay) Cross and spent his early life there graduating from Lamar High School before moving to the Kansas City area. He proudly served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He had worked as a cabinetmaker and retired from Exhibit Associates in 1993. He was vice president and later President of the local cabinetmakers union. He was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church in Lamar, MO. He is survived by; his wife Nancy (Whitehead) of the home; 2 sons, John Cross of Kansas City North, MO and Stephen Cross of Liberty, MO; 3 daughters, Deborah Garner and Betsy Harper of Kansas City North, MO and Stephanie Eckerd of Liberty; 2 step sons, Fred T. Cook, Jr. of Independence, MO and Lee Cook of Kansas City, KS; 3 step daughters, Becky Hatley and Ann Cook of Raymore, MO and Terry Louvier of Lafayette County, MO; 29 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
