Betty Jean Croucher, 87 of Independence, MO passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017 at the Benton House Assisted Living. The family will greet friends at 10:00 a.m., Thursday followed by a rosary at 10:45 a.m. prior to the mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 3736 S. Lee’s Summit Rd., Independence, MO 64055. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Donations may be made in her name to Alzheimer’s Research or American Heart Association. Betty was born December 11, 1929 in Edwardsville, KS to John and Anna G. (Salek) Yustick and graduated from high school in Auburn, KS. She was a beloved wife, mother, and homemaker who enjoyed gardening and other outdoor activities. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Rosary Society. She was currently a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church. Survivors include; 2 daughters, Cheryl Spurgeon and husband Mark of Kansas City, MO and Christy Reinkemeyer and husband Mark of Independence, MO; a sister, Dorothy Holmes of Topeka, KS; 5 grandchildren, Matt Morris, Megan Hoffmeyer, Kim Totty, Erin Reinkemeyer and Kelli Reinkemeyer and 6 great-grandchildren, Sophia Morris, Giana Morris, Max Hoffmeyer, Ava Hoffmeyer, Vivianne Totty and Tatum Totty. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Max Croucher in 2016, her parents and 3 brothers, Joe, Eddie and John.
