Kelly Jeanne Crow (Mclaughlin)

Kelly Jeanne (McLaughlin) Crow, 53, of Independence, MO, passed away from this life on Sunday, January 27, 2019. A visitation will be held Friday, February 8, 2019 from 6-8pm with a service to be held Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 11am, both at Beacon Heights Community of Christ 19402 E Holke Rd, Independence, MO 64057. Cremation is planned with a private disposition. Kelly was born March 2, 1965 in Bellflower, CA. Daughter of Katherine (Ray) and James E McLaughlin Sr. She graduated from Harding High School in 1983. Kelly taught preschool at Stone Church and later graduated from St. Luke’s Hospital with a BSN in May of 2013. She worked with young women and babies as a mentor and teacher nurse at Mother’s Refuge. She loved gardening and locally grown wholesome food (organic preferably). Kelly leaves behind her loving husband, Page Crow; children Jacob De Long, Joshua De Long and Katie Jane (Kenny) (De Long) Kerns; parents, James McLaughlin Sr and Kathie (Larry) Rustan; brothers James (Brenda) McLaughlin II of Olathe, KS, and Matt (Becky) Shanklin of St. Paul, MN; sisters Rebecca (Jason) (Shanklin) Hinz of Gardner, KS, Angela (Shanklin) Perez of St. Paul, MN, and Lisa Marie Shanklin of St. Paul, MN; one granddaughter, Athena Kerns; multiple nieces and nephews; many friends; and colleagues. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Mother's Refuge 14400 E 42nd St S, Independence, MO 64055.
