Carlos Cruz

Carlos Reveles Cruz, 68, Independence, MO passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Carlos was born September 14, 1945 in Kansas City, MO the son of Charlie “Carlos” and Delores (Reveles) Cruz. He worked at Ford Motor Company and later for The Groves as a floor technician. Carlos was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was a Knights of Columbus 4th Degree. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, going to the casino, most of all spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Martin Rangel.

Survivors include his loving wife, Margaret Cruz; son, Andy Cruz; daughters, Staci Coffman and husband Walter, Deanna Spooner and husband Jerry; seven grandchildren; brothers, Johnny Cruz and wife Virginia, and Andy Cruz; sisters; Petra Rangel, Mona Carry and husband Bill, and Yolanda Floyd and husband John.

Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, June 15, 2014 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052 with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 noon, Monday, June 16, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church; 600 N. Liberty, Independence, MO 64050. Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Woodlawn Cemetery.
