Encarncion Cruz-Diaz

Encarnacion Cruz-Diaz, 99 of Oak Grove, MO passed away Monday, September 24, 2018 at her residence. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055 with burial to follow in Blue Springs Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Friday evening at the chapel. Encarnacion was born August 10, 1919 in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico to Juan Cruz and Angelina Diaz and spent most of her life in Puerto Rico. She was a homemaker and enjoyed dancing, sewing, going to the casinos, beach life and most of all spending time with family. Survivors include; a daughter, Dolores Ferris and husband Michael of Oak Grove, MO; a son, Dennis Whittinghill and wife Barbara of Ocala, FL; 7 grandchildren including Tina Joy and husband Gregory and Connie Azcona and husband Robert; 9 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 10 siblings, her husband James Clay Whittinghill, Sr., a son, James Clay Whittinghill, Jr. and a granddaughter, Julie Ann Moody.
