Robert Weldon Cully, 88, Odessa, MO went to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday August 25, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Weldon was born March 3, 1926 in Seymour, MO and grew up at Humansville, one of ten children. He married Wanda L. Garland in April 1950. They moved to east Independence, MO in 1952. They have four children. Mr. and Mrs. Cully have lived in Odessa, MO for the last 25 years. Weldon was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran from 1944-1946 and served in the Philippines and Korea. He was a member of The American Legion Borgman Osthoff Post #134 in Wellington, MO.
Weldon leaves behind his loving wife of the home; sons and their spouses, Howard and Judy Cully, Independence, Ron and Janet Cully, Lee’s Summit; daughters and their spouses, Carolyn and Norman Telgemeier, Odessa, and Marilyn and Vic Nixdorf, Castle Rock, CO; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brothers and their spouses, Keith and Carol Cully, Buffalo, MO, Jim and JoAnn Cully, Collierville, TN; sisters and their spouses, Charlene and Douglas Simpson, Kansas City, MO, Corale and Jerry Altman, Lawrence, KS.
The family wishes to sincerely thank Crossroads Hospice, Dr. Sproules, nurses and staff for their loving care and support and also the V.A. Hospital and staff for all that they have done. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO with Military Honors.
