Harold "Tony� Curtis, 81, passed away Sunday May 6, 2004. He was the youngest of three of Mack & Bertha (Brown) Curtis. His siblings, Mildred and Elmer Curtis precedes him in death. He was born May 1, 1923 in Independence, Mo and was a lifelong area resident. He was preceded in death by his wives, Riley and Donna. He attended Independence public schools before serving in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during WWII. Tony operated 2 successful businesses: an asphalt company and he and his wife Riley operated the Cork & Bottle liquor store. Tony was never a person who tried to appear what he was not. Tony leaves special friends: Ira and Nina Anders, and Alice (Curtis) Zumwalt and Bill Curtis, who were friends more than they were cousins. He also leaves behind friends Dr. Glenn and Patsy Barr. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at the Buckner Hill Cemetery.
