Barbara Ann Curtner, 71, of Independence, died June 7, 2006 at her home. Mrs. Curtner will lie in state at Carson-Speaks Chapel on Sunday from 5-7 P.M. Graveside Services will be held on Monday at 10:00 A.M. at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens in Independence. Barbara was born on April 20, 1935 in Marshall, Missouri the daughter of Chester R. and Mabel (Thomas) Barnes. She was a graduate of Marshall High School. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her son fishing, going to NASCAR races and working in her flower garden. She worked as an Accounting Clerk for DST Mutual Funds. She was also a member of the Eagles Lodge and was a Foster Grandparent. She is survived by her son, Glenn Curtner of the home and by two brothers, Melvin Barnes and his wife Doris and Chester Lee Barnes and his wife Alice all of Marshall, Mo.
