Gene E. Custead

Gene E. Custead, 82, of Independence, MO passed away, Sunday, September 21, 2003 at Independence Regional Health Center. Visitation will be from 1-2:00 pm Thursday, September 25, 2003 at Speaks Midtown Chapel. Services will follow visitation at 2:00 pm at the chapel. Burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. Gene was born October 23, 1920 in Independence, MO to Jack and Jeanette (Russell) Custead. Mr. Custead owned Gene Custead Enterprises performing precision tool and die work. He was a 50 year Mason # 76 AF & AM and was a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce. Gene was a member of Enoch Hill Community of Christ. Mr. Custead is survived by his wife of 61 years, Doris (Snelson) Custead of the home, daughter Joanne Hurst (Gary); grandson Aaron Hurst; granddaughter Taylor Hurst all of Raytown, MO; brothers Jerry Custead (Nancy), Dr. Wayne Custead (Audrey) all of Kansas City, MO and a sister Jane DiCapo (Ross) of N. Richland Hills, TX.
