Esther Marie (Wilson) Daniels, 81, Independence, MO died Feb. 5, 2007 at the home of her granddaughter, Dana Terry, in Blue Springs, MO. Friends and family are invited to celebrate the life of this gracious lady at 10:30 am, Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, with Pastor Brian Ross of Englewood Church officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Graveside services will be at 2 pm, Thursday at Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler, MO.
Esther was born Jan. 22, 1926 in Appleton City, MO to Ira and Lucy (Diehl) Wilson. Raised on a farm, she loved animals, especially horses and baby pigs. Esther graduated from high school in Butler, MO. She was a member of the Kansas City Baptist Temple. She served her country as a welder in an airplane parts factory during WW II. She was married in 1948. Esther worked for Skelly Oil, Russell Stover�s Candy and retired after 20 years from Great American Insurance. She enjoyed ballroom and square dancing, as well as spending time with her family and many friends.
She was preceded in her passing by her parents, Ira and Lucy (Diehl) Wilson; her son, DeWayne Daniels; and brothers Paul, Otis and Joseph Wilson. Esther is survived by two daughters and their families, Bonnie Rooks; Linda Van Bibber and husband Mark; son Daniel Wells and wife Sue; brother Ivan Wilson and wife Betty; nine grandchildren: Tina Lyle, Dana Terry and husband Robert, Lisa Thompson, Courtney Hockman, Joshua Daniels and wife Tiffany, Monica Whitton and husband Josh, Jesse Rooks, Holly Rooks, Kyle Wells, and Daniele Wells; ten great-grandchildren Collin VanBibber, Nicholas Luke, Romeo Templeton, Paris Templeton, Jordan Terry, Imani Thompson, Justin Daniels, Josiah Hockman, Jay Hockman and Jazmyn Daniels. Esther cared deeply for her family, including all her nieces, nephews, and cousins and leaves a legacy of love and family.
Friends and family are invited to gather for food and memories before leaving for Butler for the committal service.
Esther will be remembered for her kindness, thoughtfulness and beautiful smile (and the best pancakes in the world).
