Harold J. Daniels, 85, Independence, MO died Aug. 27, 2013. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Friday, Aug. 30 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Private Masonic Service and entombment at Mt. Washington Mausoleum will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the SPCA Independence Shelter, 21001 E. 78 Hwy, Independence, MO 64057 or the Alzheimer’s Association Heart of America Chapter, 3846 W. 75th St., Prairie Village, KS 66208. Harold was born Oct. 9, 1927 in Richmond, MO. He worked at Armco Steel for twenty-seven years and retired in 1982. He was a fifty-year member of Mt. Washington Masonic Lodge #614 and had been a member of Maywood Baptist Church. He was a member of the amputees support group L.E.A.P. and attended Armco Retirees meetings. He was also a dog lover who took part in the Greyhound adoption program, REGAP. He also loved traveling with his wife Carlene and visiting with his friends and family. Harold was preceded in death by his wife Carlene Daniels, four brothers and a sister. He is survived by son Jim Daniels, Independence, MO and many nieces, nephews and other family members.
