Darlene Sullivan

Darlene Sullivan, 84, of Independence, MO passed away on July 7, 2023, in North Kansas City, MO. She was born in Kirksville, MO on October 30, 1938, to Raymond and Juanita (Mott) Wood. Darlene was a farm girl but once she finished school, she moved to the Kansas City area. Darlene worked at Montgomery Ward for years and went on to work for GEHA, where she retired ten years ago. She liked to shop, embroider, bowl, and loved spending plenty of time in Branson. Darlene loved flowers and her favorites were pansies and geraniums.

Darlene is survived by her sister Loretta (Charles) Waddle, niece Carol (Billy) Salisberry, niece Debbie (Scott) Parrie, two great nieces, 1 nephew, and three great-great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dachshund Annie and special friends Sharon Piercey and Alice Ann Walker. Darlene is preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Juanita Wood, her twin sister Charlene Wood, sister Shirley (RE) Alexander, and two nephews Randy Alexander and Bobby Waddle.

Funeral services for Darlene will be held at 10:00am on Friday July 14, 2023, at Speaks Suburban Chapel followed by a graveside service at Bunce Cemetery in Elmer, MO.
