JOHN WAYNE DATSCHEFSKI

John Datschefski, 68, of Independence, MO passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016. A visitation will be held from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday October 25, 2016 at New Hope Congregation 220 W Moore St, Independence, MO, 64050. A service will follow at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Kansas City, KS.

John was born on March 13, 1948 in Aurora, IL to Arthur and Veronica Datschefski. He earned his Master’s degree and worked as an Analyst Developer III for H&R Block. He was a member of the RLDS New Hope Congregation and a Deacon in the church. In his spare time, John enjoyed collecting many things like stamps, coins, Pez dispensers, bobble heads, Pepsi memorabilia, M&M items, church books, Archie comics and matchbooks. He also loved watching daily shows like The Price is Right, Let’s Make a Deal, Wheel of Fortune, and reruns of Seinfeld. John will be remembered by his wife Linda of the home; daughter Sarah Greenwich and husband Larry of Bolingbrook, IL; son Paul Datschefski and wife Aleshia of Independence, MO; daughter Kayla Ardon and husband Antonio of Independence, MO; son Tyler Datschefski and wife Madison of Independence, MO; grandchildren Gabriel and Shawn Greenwich, Adan and Ava Ardon, and baby Datschefski due in April; his brother A. Edward Datschefski, Jr. and wife Mary; and sister Bette Sue Lowry; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
