David Leroy Schnetzer, known affectionately as Dave, passed away on August 5, 2024, at the age of 75, in Independence, Missouri. Born on March 26, 1949, in Northeast Kansas City, Missouri at the Osteopathic Hospital, Dave grew into a hardworking, kind, and loving man, deeply rooted in his faith and dedicated to his family.
Dave graduated from Truman High School and furthered his education at Mid-America Nazarene College and Bethany Nazarene College. He devoted almost 40 years to the United States Postal Service before retiring. His commitment to service was mirrored in his personal life, where he was a pillar of strength and support to those around him.
He was a lifelong member of Dundee Hills Church of the Nazarene and later New Hope Church of the Nazarene, where he actively participated and served the community.
Dave's hobbies included meticulous care for his yard and woodworking, showcasing his attention to detail and love for nature.
He was preceded in death by his father James and mother Mary-Ellen Schnetzer. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 53 years, Anne; sons, Michael, Jason and his wife Angie, and their children Sophia and Sam; as well as his daughter, Heidi and her children, Isabella, Evelyn, and Gwendolyn. He also leaves behind his siblings Mary Lee (Bill), Glenda, Barbara (Darrell), Wayne (Gail), Raymond, Charles, and Danetta in addition to many nieces and nephews.
