Leora Davidson

Grace Davidson, 77, of Independence, MO, died on Sunday morning, January 6, 2008, at her home, surrounded by her four sons. She is survived by her sons, John (wife Ellen), Bob (wife Vicki), Steve (wife Kathy) and Bill (fiancé Cindy Burton); and five grandchildren, Mark, Brent, Ashley, Marc and Joe, and Cindy’s sons, Ryan and Taylor. Grace was born March 20, 1930 in Chillicothe, MO to Claude and Ethel (Wilson) Dawkins. She was married for 35 years to A.W. “Dave” Davidson, who preceded her in death in 1986. Grace worked in sales for Joe Falk Toys, Gateway Sporting Goods and Helzberg Diamonds while raising her family. She enjoyed working in PTA and the Wm. Chrisman Booster Club, dressing fashionably, dancing with Dave, visiting with her nieces, making “hen and noodles”, partying with her neighbors on Jennings Road….but nothing gave her more joy than being a mother, and later, a grandma. A memorial visitation will be held from 1-2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, with a service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. The family wishes to extend special thanks the loving caregivers at The Fountains who became a part of her extended family in later years. Memorial gifts in Grace’s honor may be donated to the American Lung Association or the William Chrisman Booster Club.
