Carl E. Davis, 87, Independence, MO passed away Dec. 29, 2018. Services will be 2:00 pm, Sat., Jan. 5, 2019 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052; interment at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm before the services at the chapel. The family requests contributions to the American Cancer Society Greater Kansas City Chapter, 1100 Pennsylvania Ave, Kansas City, MO 64105.
Carl was born Feb. 2, 1931 in Willard, MO. He is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He lived in Independence for over fifty-nine years and worked at the GM Leeds Plant for over thirty-six years until his retirement in 1987. He also worked at Tags TV Repair and was a member of UAW Local #93. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and music. He played guitar for many years and played in country bands in the area.
Carl was preceded in death by his wife Glennie Davis, sons Garry Davis, Eddie Davis; granddaughter Rachael E. Davis and grandson Craig A. Davis. He is survived by sons Gene Davis and wife Cheryl, Camden, MO; Larry Davis and wife Delight, Independence, MO; daughters Sheryl Hollander and husband Aaron, Blue Springs, MO; Cathy Davis, and husband Todd Veber; Gail Davis, all of Independence, MO; sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
