Tracy Dawn Davis, 56, passed away of natural causes, peacefully in her home in Raytown, Missouri, on June 7, 2017. The family will greet friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Lobb Cemetery in Independence, MO. Tracy was born on December 24, 1960, in Mount Vernon, Washington, to Richard "Dick" Davis and Nora May (Merrifield) Davis. After moving around the country, they settled in Independence, MO where Tracy attended Van Horn High School. Tracy served in the Marine Corps from 1982-1984 at Camp Pendleton, CA before starting her family. Tracy raised six children, Michael Brandon Davis, Morgan Davis, Ashley Petrovic-Blair, Cody Davis, Brittney Davis and Kaleigh Davis. Tracy has 8 grandchildren, Andi, Sam, Payton, Bella, Karsyn, Crue, Zoey and Luna. She was a travel agent and loved to go on vacations with her family, taking many trips to Cancun with her mother and taking her children to destinations like Disney World and Mount Rushmore. Having a son with cerebral palsy, Tracy became an advocate for the disabled and worked diligently to raise awareness and holding fundraisers, including getting new computers for her son's school. Tracy loved her babies, it wasn't often you saw her without a child in her arms, no matter who they belonged to. She was an avid porcelain doll collector at one time having over 70 on display in her home. She was a practical joker and enjoyed all holidays. She was known for scaring her kids around Halloween and making Christmas time magical for her family. Tracy had a hard exterior, but a very kind heart. She would do anything for her family, giving them whatever she had, even down to her last dollar, but not her last cigarette. Tracy was preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by her brothers, Bob Merrifield and wife Donna and Mark Davis; her Sisters, Kim Smith and husband Rick, Kelly Kuns and husband Sid, and Tania Davis. She is also survived by her 6 children and 8 grandchildren. Online condolences may be expressed at www.speakschapel.com (Arrangements: Speaks Suburban Chapel 816-373-3600)
