Sherry Dawson

Sherry Lynn (Trudy) Dawson, 68, of Kansas City, Mo, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2014. Trudy was born on April 22, 1946 in Kansas City, MO to Redell and Almeada (Kellerstrass) Dawson. Trudy, (her own chosen nickname) was a resident of Truman Medical Center-Lakewood since December 1, 1998; following the passing of her parents. She leaves two sisters, Arnetta Sue Hayden (Larry) and Vera Earlene Jameson, both of Raytown, two nieces, Jerri Lynn Huggins (Brian) and Tami Sue Jameson, and two nephews, Robert Bruce Jameson and Sean Michael Jameson. Trudy loved music of all kinds, especially music from the 50’s and 60’s. For Trudy, every event was a party and she knew the schedule of every event, so she was sure not to miss a thing. Trudy loved people and made many friends at Truman. Even with her own physical disabilities, she was a help to the other resident. From pushing wheelchairs to just being a friend, Trudy was always positive and upbeat. She was a blessing to everyone she met, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Visitation will be from 12-1:00 pm Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 pm at Brooking Cemetery in Raytown. The family wishes to thank the staff at Truman for their many years of care and assistance. Donations can be made to the Truman Activities Fund for Long Term Care Residents.
