Jason Lee Day, of Independence, MO, a man with the biggest heart, who was known to love hard, passed away on December 25, 2021. He was 46 years old. Jason was born on November 24, 1975 in Fresno, California to Lawrence and Debbrah Day. He graduated from Hoover High School in Fresno, CA in the class of 1993. While still in California, he met the love of his life, Greta Williams on February 12, 1995. They got married on May 17, 2001, and to this union, three children were born: Victoria, Jordan and Connor. Jason loved his children, family and friends fiercely. Since the age of 19, Jason worked in liquor sales, and enjoyed his current job with Major Brands liquor distributor, where he worked for over 7 dedicated years.
As a west coast native, he was an avid Oakland Raiders fan, but oddly enough, also a huge fan of the New York Yankees. Jason built several volleyball courts on the beach in Santa Cruz, CA, his favorite city to spend time at as a child and teenager. His family and friends knew him as a generous man who was always willing to help people, and feed those in need, as Jason was very involved with Harvesters of Kansas City. He never knew a stranger and will always be remembered as being very social, and making friends everywhere he went. He is dearly loved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed.
Jason is survived by his wife of over 20 years, Greta Day; children, Victoria (Travis) Williams, Jordan Day and Connor Day; granddaughter, Emily Williams; siblings, Aimie Day, and Ryan (Maritza Vindell) Day; niece, Mikayla Day; grandparents, Delores and Wayne Crownover; aunts, Joyce (Don) Moren, Veronica (Wayne) Hatfield and Brenda (Rick) Sewell; brothers-in-law, Eric (Kym) Williams, and John (Vicki) Williams; many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and numerous friends and co-workers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Debbrah Day; mother-in-law, Patsy Downs; grandparents, Leanna and John Day; and best friend, Josh Jerdon.
A visitation to honor Jason will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 5:30-8:30 p.m., with a celebration of life the following day, Thursday, January 6, at 2:00 p.m., both at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055.
