Floyd R. Deal, Jr. 84 of Independence, MO passed away Monday, May 28, 2007 at his residence. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 2, 2007 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Friday evening at the chapel. Donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Floyd was born June 8, 1922 in Indianapolis, IN to Floyd R. and Mildred (Havens) Deal, Sr. He grew up in Buffalo, NY graduating from Fosdick Masten High School in 1941. He owned and operated the Deal Engineering and Machine Company Inc. from 1972 until the present. He enjoyed sailing, skiing and traveling abroad. He was a member of the East Alton Community of Christ Church. He was married to June (Adams) on November 26, 1942, she survives of the home. Other survivors include; 3 daughters, Barbara Spies and her husband Jerry of Independence, MO, Susan Templeton and her husband George of Lake St. Louis, MO and Nancy Wion of Independence, MO; a sister, Dorothy Allen of Blue Springs, MO; 7 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Floyd R. Deal III in 1998, a brother Thomas Deal, a son-in-law Leslie Wion and a grandson, Eric Wion.
