June Deal, 94, of Independence, MO passed away February 25, 2018. A graveside inurnment will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 9, at Mound Grove Cemetery. A gathering for family and friends will be held immediately following at Beacon Heights Community of Christ Church, 19402 E. Holke Rd. Independence, Mo. 64057. June Nancy Adams was born October 29, 1923, to her loving parents Edward and Lillian Adams. She grew up in Buffalo, New York, as an only child surrounded by family with fond memories of eating ice cream in the evenings at her family's ice cream and candy shop. June went to High School in Buffalo and belonged to a sorority which held dances which in turn is where she met her husband. June attended business college before marriage. She married Floyd Rayford Deal II after High School and moved several times with him, where Floyd's career took him.
As a teenager, June worked as a candy girl at the movie theater where her mother also worked. After marriage she held various positions in bookkeeping departments, including the Tucker plant which was commissioned during the WWII to make aircraft parts and Floyd worked as an engineer.
Later moving to Independence, Missouri, where they established a permanent home. Together, Floyd and June built a home in Manor Oaks in 1957 where they raised their four children. Floyd passed in 2007 and June resided in their home until shortly before her passing, They had four children: Barbara Louise, Susan Denise, Floyd Rayford III (passed in 1998) and Nancy Carolyn Adams Deal.
June enjoyed sunning in Mexico, Florida, and traveling in Europe. She also enjoyed having the entire family at her home for holidays.
June leaves behind three children Barbara Spies (Jerry), Susan Templeton (George), Nancy Wion, many grand and great grand children.
