William Lee “Bill” Dean, 88, of Independence, Missouri passed away on peacefully on Monday, February 20, 2023. Bill was born to Harry and Edna Dean on December 7, 1934 in Seattle, Washington.
After graduating from Oak Grove high school Bill entered the United States Air Force to proudly serve his country. During that time he learned to work on aircraft and managed to run into his future wife while at a social gathering in Oklahoma City. Bill and Teresa were married in 1962 and to that union came 2 daughters. Bill was a quiet yet dedicated man. He took pride in keeping his yard pristine, enjoyed many camping adventures with his family, enjoyed his many pets and liked to watch westerns and read Louis L'Amour books. In 2004 Bill was honored by the Federal Aviation Administration with the Charles Taylor “Master’s Mechanics” award which recognized over 50 years of his dedication to aviation maintenance. His passion for planes and cars began at an early age and he never failed to seize an opportunity to learn more. Bill will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Teresa and daughter, Teri Morris (Dan); son-in-law, William Burris; grandchildren, Carlyn, Christine, Benjamin and Connor; great grandchildren, Cooper and Phoebe.
Bill is preceded in death by his daughter, Catherine Dean Burris.
