Marlena Dedrick

Marlena Jane Dedrick 58 of Independence, MO, passed away, Thursday, November 29, 2012 at her residence. Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m., until service time Wednesday at the chapel. Marlena was born December 28, 1954 in Independence, MO to Martin L. and Lena M. (Redding) Bradford and has been a lifelong area resident. She had worked at Merritt Foods and Guys Potato Chips for over 20 years. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother who enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting and yard work. She was married to George Dedrick who preceded her in death in 2005. Survivors include; a daughter, Kimberly Cox of Independence, MO; a son, George Dedrick and wife Sarah of Grain Valley, MO; her mother, Lena Bradford of Independence, MO; a sister, Connie Bradford of Independence, MO; 2 brothers, Jerry Bradford and wife Rosemary of the Philippines and Randall James of Independence, MO; 5 grandchildren, Aaron Oldham, Kelsey Cox, Myles Dedrick, Isabella Dedrick and Adelynn Dedrick and her close friends, Ginny Dobbs and Barbara Burns. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Julia Jones.
