Bernice W. Delmont, 86, of Independence, MO passed away Monday, June 27, 2005. Services will be 10 am Thursday, June 30th at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave; with interment in Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm at the Chapel. Contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Bernice was born June 23, 1919 in Independence, MO to Owen and Goldie Wisemore. Bernice was a graduate of William Chrisman High School, and UMKC earning a Spanish Language and Literature degree. She was a member of The Community of Christ, Cornerstone Congregation. She was a Secretary with American States Insurance Company, retiring in 1989 after 33 years. Bernice was an active volunteer, serving the Independence Regional Health Center Auxiliary and was named Auxilian of the Year in 1993. She was awarded the Distinguished Service Award from the Independence Neighborhood Council in 1985. Her husband Ralph preceded Bernice in death in 1979. She is survived by her daughter, Carla O�Connor of Kansas City, MO; nieces, nephews; cousins; and beloved friends.
