Frances Denio

Frances J. Denio, 88, Blue Springs, MO passed away July 24, 2007. Services will be 10 am, Sat., July 28, 2007 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; interment at Blue Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Friday at the funeral home.
Frances was born May 24, 1919 in Vida, MT. Her parents moved to Independence when she was three years old and she remained in the area for a good portion of her life. Frances earned her degree to become a dietitian at Iowa State University. During WW II, she enlisted in the Marines. She also served in the Peace Corps in Peru for three years. Frances had worked as a dietitian in several KC area hospitals before earning her Master’s Degree from Loma Linda (CA) University. She was a charter member of Covenant Restoration Branch, which began its first meetings in her living room.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband James Denio in 2006. She is survived by her sister Alice Gravendijk, Oak Grove, MO; stepson Douglas Denio and wife Judy, Columbus, NE; grandchildren Brian, Chrystal, Sarah; and numerous cousins.
