Felix John Desmedt, Sr.

Felix John DeSmedt, Sr. 92, of Independence, MO passed away Monday, February 7, 2005. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Crossroads Hospice, or St. Mary�s Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 am Friday, February 11th at St. Mary�s Catholic Church; with interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A Prayer Service will be said at 6:30 pm Thursday, with visitation following from 7 to 8:30 pm at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Felix was born November 19, 1912 in the Dodson area of Kansas City, MO to Jules and Romaine DeSmet. He was a member of St. Mary�s Church for over 65 years. He worked at Missouri Portland Cement Co. in Sugar Creek, MO for over 35 years, retiring in 1977. Felix was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 56 years, Mary E. Camerlynck DeSmedt; brothers and sisters, Annie Ceule, Margaret Caenepeel, Irma Van DeWeghe, Gustave DeSmet, Henry DeSmet, and Albert DeSmedt. He is survived by his sons, Felix E. "Corky� DeSmedt, Jr. and Joseph Gustave DeSmedt and wife Rowena, both of Independence, MO; many nieces and nephews.
