Bob was born June 1, 1961 to Robert Kenneth and Mary Frances (Carroll) Dessent in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from William Chrisman High School and went on to DeVry University. Bob was employed by Sears Automotive and B & B Engineering before landing at AT&T where he worked for 20 years. He was involved in AT&T Pioneers, Hearts and Shamrocks Club, Wounded Warriors, and volunteered with the Special Olympics. He was a generous man, always giving back to others, so appropriately, his final act was to be an organ donor. Bob’s love of music ran deep, and he would take in any live band that he could find. He was a proud Irishman, who loved his Royals, Chiefs and Missouri Tigers, but above all, he loved his family who meant everything to him. Recently, Bob had become a very talented BBQ smoker and loved sharing the food he had created with his friends and family.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa, of the home; his daughter, Rachael Dessent of Independence; step-daughter, Alison (Robbert) Rodriguez and their children, Junior, Adalynn and Anastascia of Forney, TX; step-daughter, Jessica (Chris) Venker of University City, MO; his sister, Kathleen (Jim) Jackson of Independence; brother, Chris Dessent of Independence; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Tom Dessent and Jim Dessent; and his sister, Karen Guerra.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his honor to ALS.
