Robert D. (Bob) Dieckhoff, 64, of Independence, MO passed away Thursday, June 5, 2003 at his home. Visitation will be 6-8:00 pm Sunday June 8, 2003 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Services will be 10:00 am Monday June 9, 2003 at the chapel. Burial in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Bob was born November 8, 1938 in Kansas City, MO to John and Esther (Sanders) Dieckhoff. He retired in 2000 from the MO State Highway Department. Bob enjoyed hunting in his spare time as well as working on crossword puzzles and following politics. He loved his grandchildren dearly and was active taking them to school and picking them up. Bob had a knack as a wheeler dealer in purchasing new and used cars. He spent time reading the Bible and listening to gospel music. Getting together with family was important to him. Bob is survived by his wife Shirley (Garrison) Dieckhoff of the home, daughter Teresa Owens (John) of Shawnee, KS, son Robert Dieckhoff (Michelle) of Independence, MO, daughters Angela Caviness and Laura Markley both of Independence, MO, brother Jerry Dieckhoff of Kingsville, MO and sister Barbara Hagan of Excelsior Springs, MO. Also surviving are grandchildren Alyssa Owens, Kayla, Logan and Alicya Rowe, Kacey, Holly and Joshua Caviness, Ryan Fisher, Cole and Skylar Moore, mother-in-law Chloree Garrison, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
