Edwin Duane Dieckman

Edwin Duane Dieckman, 70, passed away peacefully at his home in Independence after an extended illness. His devoted wife Judy was at his side. Cremation. Private services to follow. Duane was a lifelong resident of Independence with the exception of his military service as an Officer in the United States Marine Corps. He was preceded in death by his loving parents Edwin A. and Henrietta E. (Winfrey) Dieckman. Duane will be remembered as a loving brother to Marian C. Hammert, Dallas, TX; Charlotte S. Markham, Austin, TX; and David D. Dieckman, Overland Park, KS; and as a caring parent to Ilsa Hinsley, Prairie Village, KS; Jeremy Baldwin, Odessa, MO; and Jennifer Baldwin, of the home. He also leaves behind six grandchildren: Jake Sam and Zoe Hinsley and Nathan, Journey and Braden Baldwin. Duane was a magnificent story teller and loved to recount his memories of his beloved uncles and growing up in Eastern Jackson County.
