Bernard Dietrich

Bernard “Bernie” Dietrich, 77, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Kansas City Hospice House. A Visitation will be from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St.; Independence. MO 64055. Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. Burial at Floral Hills East Cemetery, Lee’s Summit, MO. Bernard was born on December 18, 1934 in Independence, MO to John and Elizabeth (Pitt) Dietrich. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, and married his loving wife, and lifelong companion, Kendra (Osborn) Dietrich in 1955. Bernie retired from KCP&L, and was an avid aviator, serving as corporate pilot and flight instructor. He is survived by wife, Kendra; sons, David (Paula) and Jim (Dacia) Dietrich; five grandchildren; sister Marlene Godfrey (Wesley); brother Jim Dietrich (Martha); sister Mary Jane Marshall; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
