Tommie Dillard

Tommie Dillard, 57, of Independence, MO passed away September 4, 2018. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, at Redeemer Fellowship, 3921 Baltimore Ave., KCMO. Tommie was born September 25, 1960 in Wynne, Arkansas. She had worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield for over 12 years. She was an ardent reader of self help/health, and loved knowledge. She was very proud of herself, her family and her children. She was a loyal friend, and loved to cook. Tommie was deeply religious and spiritual. She enjoyed swimming and yoga, as well as loving her music and traveling. Tommie is survived by her three children, Michael Dillard, Chavohn Cogburn, Fredric Sims (his wife Rachel Jenkins) and Mickey Rambo; seven grandchildren; four sisters, Charlotte West, Shirley Dillard (who preceded her in death), Jo Ann Cobb and Denise Price; brother, Lloyd Cogburn; first husband, Freddie Sims; three uncles, Carl Akins, Cornell Heath, Robert Gould; cousins, Muriel Hanna, Jerry Dillard and his wife Nekosher, Carol Cannon, Robert Gould, Jr.; best friends, Christine Perry and Mary Kisner; nephews, Kevin Dillard and Deon Price; and friend, Michael Cogburn.
