Audrey Marie Dingman, 65, of Lone Jack, MO, passed away on April 18, 2020.
Audrey was born on April 17, 1955, in Kansas City, MO, the fourth child of Donovan Armstrong and Margaret (Faught) Armstrong. She attended Hickman Mills and graduated from Raytown South in the class of 1973. She worked for General Motors – Leeds plant for 10 years as an assembly worker, and then transitioned to a position as a histology technician. That career spanned four decades and included work at KC Cyto Lab, Overland Park Regional Health Center, and then LabCorp. She was a night owl by nature, so the night shift suited her well. She loved her work and was well-respected by her peers.
Audrey met James “Jim” Dingman at Fun House Pizza restaurant in Raytown, and they married in 1992. For the following six years, they lived in Blue Springs, then built their home in Lone Jack. She and Jim are owners of the Fun House Pizza locations in Blue Springs and Lee’s Summit.
Audrey and Jim loved to travel; they had the opportunity to visit places like St. Thomas, the Grand Cayman Islands, Boston, South Carolina, and even a couple of cruises. When at home, Audrey enjoyed displaying her collection of Teddy Bears and giving a meal to any stray cat who crossed her path.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Dingman; siblings, Norman Armstrong, Norma Carter, John Armstrong, and Perry Hammonds, Jr.; cousin, James Thomas Spotts; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donovan and Margaret Armstrong; and Mouse.
Audrey will be laid to rest in a private committal service in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO.
