Mark Allen Dinwiddie of Independence Missouri, passed away too soon on September 24, 2021. He was born on March 12, 1971 to Freddie (aka Gunny) and Linda (Drown) Dinwiddie. On December 14, he married Kristina (Stomboly).
Mark leaves behind his wife Kristina and four children, Kolby (Juanita, Charlotte), Hannah (Connor), Drew (Clarissa) and Sarrah. He also leaves two sisters and a brother; Melissa (his twin), Shannon and Scott; as well as numerous Marine Corp. brothers.
Mark was a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. He joined the Marines in 1989 and was stationed at Camp Horno,Camp Pendleton California. He deployed to Desert Storm in 1991 by way of the USS Peoria LST 1183 with the 3rd Battalion 1st Marines Amphibious Assault Group, Lima 3/1 and rated the Combat Action Ribbon.He also served in Okinawa, Japan. He will be greatly missed by all of his Marine Corp brothers.
Of course anyone that knew Mark knew how much he loved animals. He has saved many baby animals including birds, squirrels, bats, dogs and rabbits. He had the softest heart for animals and babies. Mark will also be remembered for his love of family, sense of humor, witty comebacks and for racing in his Dodge Charger. He loved working on his kids' cars and teaching them what he knew.
A visitation to honor Mark will be held on Wednesday, October 6 2021, from 9-11 a.m., with a Celebration of Life to follow, at 11:00 a.m., both at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street in Independence, MO. The service will be livestreamed via Speaks Chapels page for those who would like to virtually attend his service. Mark will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens in Independence, MO. In lieu of flowers, any donations to the family would be appreciated.
