Wanda Jean Dinwiddie, of Independence, MO passed away on Monday, December 13th, 2021, 2 days before her 96th birthday.
A visitation will be held from 12-1:00pm on Friday, December 17th with a service following at 1:00pm, both at Ascension Lutheran; 4900 Blue Ridge Blvd; Kansas City, MO 64133. Interment will follow at Mt. Washington Cemetery in Independence, MO.
Wanda was born on December 15, 1925 in Kansas City, MO to Frank and Iva (Skinner) Doggett. She graduated from Rosedale High School in Kansas City, KS class of 1944. She went on to marry her beloved husband, Ralph E. Dinwiddie in 1946 and they had 53 years together before his passing in 1999. They became members of the Lutheran Church in 1955. Wanda retired after a successful 22-year career with the IRS, which she every much enjoyed. Wanda enjoyed quilting and crocheting in previous years and always enjoyed going to lunch with her family and friends. She will be missed greatly.
Wanda is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; her son-in-law, Cary Matthes; grandchildren, Beverly Dinwiddie and Christine Dinwiddie; and her brother, Oscar Jack.
She leaves behind her son, William H. (Marcene) Dinwiddie; her daughters, Patricia J. (Micheal) Hosler and Barbara K. Matthes; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.
