Emma Dixon

Emma Dixon, 86, of Independence, MO, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2012 at North Kansas City Hospital. There will be a time of gathering from 1:00-2:00 p.m. followed by a 2:00 p.m. memorial service on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Emma was born on January 15, 1926 in Sharpsville, PA to parents John Curtis and Emma Alice (Jones) Ryhal. She is survived by her husband, Jay A. Dixon; daughters, Kathy Burmaster (John) and Diane Knapp (Jack); sons, Duane Dixon and Jon Dixon (Julie); eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Emma was preceded in death by brother Everett Ryhal; and sister, Norma Burns. Emma was a lifelong member of Community of Christ Church. She worked at Westinghouse Electric, Sharon, PA prior to her marriage, November 12, 1949. She was employed at St. Paul's Nursing Home as Craft Director in Greenville, PA for 18 years, and retired in 1986. Donations may be sent to Outreach International, 124 W.
