HOWARD LEON DOCTOR
Howard Leon Doctor, a man of many trades, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 7, 2020 in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. He was 81. Howard was born on December 28, 1938 to Gladys and Ermine Doctor in Shelbina, Missouri.
Howard was a passionate man. While attending William Chrisman High School he found his first true love. A 1941 Red Chevrolet! He was a car guy. After graduating in 1957 he married his high school sweetheart Dianne Miller and they spent 48 blissful years together. Howard then offered his services in the United States Air Force. In 1960 he was recalled to the Richard Gabeur Air Force base and specialized as a flight mechanic during the Berlin Crisis. Meanwhile, Howard landed his career as an engineer with the AT&T (Western Electric) plant for nearly 30 years. As time went on Howard found his passion for many different trades. He made beautiful keepsakes thru woodwork and silversmithing. It was then he formed a special relationship with his youngest grandson Andrew while teaching him all he knew about craftsmanship. Many things made Howard smile, but his special place was at the lake. Boating, fishing and sitting on the porch of the lake house always provided a sense of peace and comfort, making it the center of his universe. Howard will be missed dearly by his friends, family and everyone in the “Old Geezers Club”.
He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Baggett (Kevin); grandsons, Daniel and Andrew Baggett (Loren) and great granddaughter, Olivia Baggett.
Howard is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Dianne; son, Gregory Doctor and his brother, Glenn Doctor.
