Sam Michael Doherty

Sam Michael Doherty, 21 of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday morning at Centerpoint Medical Center. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055 with cremation to follow. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time Saturday at the chapel. Donations may be made in his name to the Boys and Girls Club. Sam was born January 13, 1997 in Great Bend, KS to Tim Doherty and Amy Yeager. Sam spent most of his life in Independence and graduated from Fort Osage High School in 2015. He worked for Ford at their Claycomo Plant. He enjoyed playing basketball and video games. Survivors include; his mother, Amy Yeager of Olathe, KS; his father, Tim Doherty and wife Michelle of Independence, MO; 3 sisters, Amber Friess and Brooke Doherty of Independence, MO and Hailey Russell of Olathe, KS; grandparents, Michael and Jill Yeager of Larned, KS, DJ and Ann Chance of Claremore, OK, Kathy Doherty of Medicine Lodge, KS and Debbie Sterne of Independence, MO and 2 nieces and a nephew on the way.
