Donna J. Ritter, 87, passed away on April 26, 2024, in Lee's Summit, Missouri. She was born on June 20, 1936 to Floyd and Myrtle Ferguson, in Rosendale, Missouri. Donna's life was a testament to compassion and dedication.
After graduating from Rosendale High School, Donna pursued further education at Gard Business College, paving the way for a successful career as an office manager at a dental office for 14 years. Donna's proudest accomplishment was the unwavering support she provided for her husband and children. Through hard work and determination, she ensured that her loved ones had the opportunity to pursue higher education and follow their dreams as well.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Donna dedicated much of her time to volunteer work, always eager to serve her community with a warm smile and an open heart. Her willingness to help others shone brightly in all that she did.
In her leisure time, Donna found solace in exploring the world with her husband. Retirement opened doors to adventures filled with road trips, cruises, and hikes. Among all their travels, Sun Valley held a special place in her heart.
Memories of Donna will forever be intertwined with the gatherings she hosted, especially during Christmas celebrations and family get-togethers. Her nurturing spirit created a welcoming space where loved ones could come together.
Donna is survived by her beloved husband, Ronald; daughter, Ann Farris (Kevin); son, David Ritter (Ginette); grandchildren, Heather and Danielle; brothers, Noel Ferguson and Van Ferguson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Myrtle Ferguson and brother Randall Ferguson.
A graveside service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, April 30th at Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Joseph, Missouri. Donna's memorial service will begin at 11am on Wednesday, May 1st at St. Lukes United Church of Christ in Independence, Mo. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the church or any charity of your choice in memory of Donna.
