Glenna Lucille Dooley went home in the arms of Jesus on November 4th, 2022. Glenna was born to Glen and Lucille Willoughby on July 24th, 1949 in Independence, MO. She attended McCoy Elementary and Palmer Junior High before graduating as valedictorian of Truman High School’s class of 1967. As a child she especially loved horses, dogs, and her time in the 4H Club. After high school she attended the University of Missouri and remained an avid MU Tigers fan her entire life. She later graduated from Research Hospital as a registered nurse. In 1975 she married Kenneth Dooley, and they had three daughters: Rebekah, Kristin, & Erika. Glenna retired from nursing and became a stay at home mom with her girls. She was wholly devoted to their activities and interests, taking on many leadership roles during their elementary years at Blackburn Elementary, as well as for events at Bethel Baptist Church. She also enjoyed watching MU sports, was a very talented painter, and loved to travel. One of her greatest joys in life was camping with family and friends. She will be fondly remembered for her patience and encouragement when teaching countless kids how to water ski, brown bears around the campfire, and massive quantities of the best puppy chow in the world. Glenna was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Lee Willoughby. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Dooley of Independence, MO.; daughters: Rebekah Hobson (Chris) of Ozark, MO., Kristin Dooley of Raymore, MO, and Erika Hinrichs (Kelly) of Independence, MO.; stepson Brad Dooley of Punta Gorda, FL.; brother Kenneth “Buzz” Willoughby of Independence, MO.; her cherished grandchildren Skyler Dooley, Summer Shields, Abigail Hobson, Logan Hobson, Hunter Shields, Amanda Stringer, Hailey Aldana, Mickey Hinrichs, and Jason Alford; and lastly, her beloved dog, Bo.
