Mildred B. (Van Valkinburgh) Doss, long time resident of Independence, died July 2, 2003 at the age of 86 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Millie was born January 27, 1917 at Bonners Ferry, Idaho. She and her husband Royal Doss (deceased), lived in Southern California before moving to Independence, MO in 1972. Millie moved to Santa Fe in 2001 due to failing health.
Millie was a member of the Independence Regional Health Center Auxiliary, and the Mother�s Club. She was a member of the Pleasant Heights Congregation of the Community of Christ (RLDS) Church. Survivors include her son, Dan Vandolah of Santa Fe, NM, her grandson, Sean Berman of Oxnard, Ca, and two sisters, Helen Yearwood of American Falls, ID, and Dorothy Sanders of Placerville, Ca.
Millie�s ashes will be buried at Mound Grove Cemetery in Independence with her husband, Royal. A memorial service will be held in Independence through Speaks Memorial Chapel at a later date.
