Dorothy P. Dougan

Dorothy P. Dougan, 82 of Independence, MO passed away Sunday November 12, 2006 at her residence. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 17, 2006 at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Stanley, KS. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Education Fund to benefit the Children of Jason Dougan c/o Blue Ridge Bank & Trust. Dorothy was born February 11, 1924 in Belton, MO to Mike and Carrie (Hendrickson) Martin. She grew up in Kansas and graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1941. She had worked as a packager for the catalog department at Sears & Roebuck for 41 years until she retired in 1984. She was a member of the Old Town Spring PAC. She was married to Charles "Shorty� Dougan, he passed away in 1994. Survivors include; 2 sons, Clifford Dougan and wife Jean, Carl Dougan of Independence, MO; a brother, Frank Martin of Kansas City, MO; 2 sisters, Betty Price of Independence, MO and Mayola Hanes of Shawnee, KS; 2 grandchildren, Tracy Huffman and husband Scott, Nathan Dougan; Misty Lewis, 5 great grandchildren, Timothy, Sebastion and Lucas Dougan and Wyatt and Avery Huffman. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Dougan in 2006 and a daughter-in-law Joyce Dougan in 1997.
