Kyla Ann Dowell, 16, of Independence died June 16, 2006 in an automobile accident. Kyla will lie in state at Suburban Chapel on Tuesday evening from 6-8 P.M. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. at the Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence. Interment will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Kyla was entering her Junior year at Fort Osage High School. She was active in softball, swimming, and loved animals especially cats. She was a pickle lover. Kyla was very family oriented and loved to play pool, the races and riding go-carts. She wrote poetry. Kyla was born in Kansas City, MO. on June 11, 1990 the daughter of Jeffery A. and Sharee A. (McKee) Dowell. She is survived by her mother, Sharee Davis and her husband Kevin, her father Jeffery Dowell and his companion Kristie Power of Independence, Mo, her siblings: Jeffery E., Anthony M., and Brianna M. Dowell all of Independence, Kara M. Bradley of Lawrence, Ks., Tyler J. Noble of Independence, Joshua Davis of Odessa, Mo., Brittany Power and Joshua Puckett both of Independence, her grandparents: Joe and Orvileen Dowell of Independence, Larry McKee of Shell Knob, Mo., Jackie and Clifford Jewell of Independence, and great grandmothers, Rachel Brewer and Flora Howard both of Independence and Lorene Florez of Kansas City, Mo. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Charles Howard. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kyla A.
