Myrlin L. Downey, 64, Independence, Mo. died July 25, 2004 at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, Mo. Services will be 7:30 pm, Thursday, July 29, 2004 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; interment Friday at Kirk Cemetery, Allendale, Mo. Visitation will be 6 - 7:30 at the funeral home. A visitation will also be held at 1 pm, Friday at Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home, Grant City, Mo. The family suggests contributions to the VA Hospital Pulmonary Unit. Myrlin was born Sept. 13, 1939 in Allendale, Mo. He was a salesman for F & M Mafco and a U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed golf and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his father, George Downey and sister, Katherine Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Janice Downey of the home; son, Sean Downey, Indep., MO.; mother, Deva Monday, Indep., MO; brother, Frank Downey, Grant City, MO; step-daughter, Rebecca Ray, Sunrise Beach, MO; step-son, Robert Howard, Indep., MO; step-son, Keith Patterson, Lake Ozark, MO; step-daughter, Cheryl Bishop, Kingsville, MO; and grandson, Travis Earnshaw, Buckner, MO.
