Gladys E. Dudley, 99, of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at her home. The service will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, October 22 at Carson-Speaks Chapel with burial at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 PM, Sunday evening at the chapel.
Gladys was born February 1, 1908 to William and Flora May Butler, Sr.. She worked in various capacities throughout her years, working in the luggage business for Harvey Brothers and acting as manager for a laundry mat. Gladys’ true love lay with her family and her home and is apparent by the legacy she leaves behind. She is survived by her son, Maurice Lee Dudley of Independence; granddaughter, Linda Eaden and husband Doug of Independence; six great-grandchildren: Debra and Michael Vegh of Russell, OH, Mike Jr. and Deborah Haas of Blue Springs, and Dennis and Amanda Haas of Independence; five great-great-grandchildren: Taylor Haas, Kailei Haas, Jordan Haas, Josiah Haas, and Hannah Haas; two brothers: William F. Butler, Jr. of Oak Grove and Orville Butler of Independence; sister, Verleen Butler Hutchison of Independence; numerous nieces and nephews; and many, many close friends, especially Patricia Heavy and Margaret Trigg. Her husband, Morris M. Dudley, preceded her in death in 195
