Karen Duffin, 65, of Independence, MO passed away Friday, December 29, 2017. A visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St, Independence, MO, 64055. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am on Friday, January 5, 2018 at St. Matthew Apostle 8001 Longview Rd, Kansas City, MO, 64134.
Karen was born on November 7, 1952 in Kansas City, MO to James and Margaret (Pearce) Logan. She graduated from Raytown South High School in 1971 and married Eugene “Jim” Duffin on April 15, 1972. Together they had 3 children: Kelly, Steve, and Angela. Karen worked various jobs to help support the family. In her spare time she liked to travel, play BINGO, and go to the casino but most of all she loved being a grandma. Her kids, grandkids, and dogs brought her the most happiness.
She will be missed dearly by her husband Jim Duffin of the home; daughter Kelly Cochran (Alecia Hefter) of Independence, MO; son Steve Duffin (Cindy) of Lees Summit, MO; daughter Angela Paprocki (Aaron) of Independence, MO; brother Michael Logan (Becky) of Springfield, MO; grandkids Cameron Duffin, Kayla Cochran, Justin Cochran, Cassidy Duffin, and Aariana Paprocki; her dogs Brutus, Comet, Manny, Coco, and Petunia; plus many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and several dogs.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Children’s Mercy Hospital.
