JEFFRY PAUL “JEFF” DUKE
Jeff Duke, loving son, husband, and father passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the age of 53. He was born in Springfield, MO on November 2, 1963. When he was 4 years old, his family moved to Blue Springs, MO where he grew up, graduating from Blue Springs High School in 1982. He received his AA degree from Metropolitan Community College. He worked for Kansas City Power & Light for over 10 years. He and his family attended Noland Road Baptist Church. Jeff enjoyed going to movies, playing video games, and just ‘hanging out’ with his boys. He and his wife Dianna were married for over 28 years and they truly enjoyed each other’s company.
He is survived by his wife Dianna and sons Jacob and Joshua of the home, parents Vance and Chris Duke of Blue Springs, MO, brother Brian Duke (Kristi) of Tomball, TX, father-in-law Lawrence Greer of Milo, MO, brother-in-law Terry Greer (Kim) of Nevada, MO, as well as 2 nephews, 5 nieces, 1 great-niece, and 1 great-nephew. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Jess and Jettie Porter, paternal grandparents Irven and Bessie Duke, and mother-in-law Marilyn Greer. He will be greatly missed, but the fact that he was saved by the grace of God, gives his family comfort and peace knowing he is without pain and rejoicing in the arms of our Heavenly Father.
Visitation will be from 6-8pm Friday, January 27, 2017 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St, Independence, MO, 64055. A service will be held at 10am on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the chapel. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Those who wish to contribute to Jeff’s memory may give to Habitat for Humanity.
