Alberta M. Dunfee, 83, of Independence, MO passed away on February 1, 2006 at the Independence Regional Health Center. A visitation will be held from 1-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. The service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel. Burial at Mound Grove Cemetery. Alberta was born on May 18, 1922 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Harry and Marie Reninger. She and her husband John owned and operated A&M Cleaners in Independence for 37 years. They were proud of the fact that all of their family members had participated in the operation of the business, making it indeed a family run business. She was a long time member of the Blue Ridge Community of Christ Church. Alberta will always be remembered for having a positive attitude and seeing the good in every situation and each individual. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, John W. Dunfee. Alberta is survived by her daughter, Alberta Jean Hodson and her husband Larry; son, John W. Dunfee, Jr. and his wife Charlene; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Riedel, Christopher Hodson, Jacqueline J. McCoy and Jill M. Boley; and five great grandchildren, Jake Riedel, Peter Hodson, John Jerald McCoy, James Hunter McCoy and Trinady Marie Boley.
